Aquilegia caerulea (columbine) comes from the Rocky mountains, full sun or partial shade, flowers the year after seeds germinate in May, June, July.    Not fussy as regards soil type will reach 60 cm tall                                                                                         Available as seeds

Aster Asperulus new to U.K. cultivation so still quite unusual, from the Himalayas, very hardy will grow to 45cms high flowers from mid summer through until Autumn. So far seems slug and Rabbit proof.     Not fussy regards soil type, full sun or partial shade     £4  in a 9 cm pot

Campanula takesimana a perennial growing to 75 cm high, very hardy H7, fun sun partial shade, not fussy about soil type but well drained. Flowers are white/cream with pink in spring/summer. Comes from northern Korea so quite rare.

Lewisia cotyledon 'sunset'  needs very well drained soil, hardy but does not like to sit in cold damp soil

Lewisia nevadensis as above more of an alpine plant, grows to around 10 cm across, flowers are held on stalks above the leaves
